| "Tips For Choosing the Best Baby Bedding" |

I can still remember the (seemingly) millions of thoughts running through my head when I started thinking about my first baby's nursery. Among the multitude, one of the most important choices I made was in the right baby crib bedding set. Since my precious little baby was going to be spending a lot (I hoped!) of time there, safety was my number one concern. Here's a couple things that I learned:
Older children and even adults may enjoy large, fluffy comforters, pillows, stuffed animals and the like all around them as they sleep. For a baby, this is impractical and unsafe. The mattress should be firm and the sheets tight to keep your baby from having too much fabric to put in their mouths. The bedding has to be soft, (your baby's skin is so easily irritated sometimes) but also durable if you're lucky enough to have them sleeping up to 18 hours a day. Do not pile toys in the crib with a newborn. The real concern is suffocation or choking. If your baby were to get a part of it in their mouth, it could be very dangerous. Baby crib bedding sets commonly come equipped with crib bumpers to keep newborns from injuring themselves on the solid bars. Before making a decision on decoration alone, be sure (for safety sake) they don't shift about.
For convenience and to avoid frustration, a standard mattress and crib size is recommended so regular bedding will fit correctly. Crib bedding must be changed fairly frequently, so from a design aspect, consider several sets of sheets with one color pallet. This will help in avoiding a nasty color combination as changeable baby sheets get mixed and matched. Select and use patterns that combine well with solid colors you like and have incorporated into other parts of the room. While hot pinks and deep blues may be tempting to get with your little girl or boy on the way, consider the gender-neutral color options so baby crib bedding sets can be repeated for multiple children.
Your new nursery can add a special charm to the rest of the interior design of your home. There are numerous baby crib bedding set options that can continue the design flow of your home into your baby?s room. The choices need not overwhelm. If you make a simple budget that you commit to sticking to, it will help you in your decision making. Of course, as your baby grows, and as your vision for the nursery develops more fully, you can always add to the original design.
